"We don't want a payrise"

This morning we've received an email telling us that the Opposition parties on the Council voted against their pay rises.

I was at the council meeting, and they didn't exactly vote against a payrise. They just said that they would have rather gonee for 50% of the recommended payrise rather than the 66% which was settled on.

Well, it's not as if they've worked for their pay rises. They're as part of the problem as the party clique which is currently in power.

Sleeping Giant;

They wanted 50% of the recommended pay for everyone. Which would have brought it out at nearly the same amount as everyone is currently paid. Effectively they didn't want anyone to get any more than a small (inflation I guess) increase.

Think of this, if 100% of the pay rise had gone though the administration would have awarded themselves even more money.
