Quick Correction and Clarification

The other day we said the Council "planning to make £7m worth of cuts to services in the Borough over the next four years". It appears we made a mistake. It's £7m of cuts this year, with the four year figure being closer to £25m. We apologise for our transgression into Guardian-esque cock-up and assure you all it won't happen again. Ironically, we actually did the Council a favour by getting it wrong the first time round. It made it look a lot less worse than it actually is.

Good grief. For once, I don't know what to say. Isn't someone going to take responsibity for this terrible situation? Why did the Councillors think the Council could afford their twinning jolly sur le Continent last August? Can we ask for our money back?

Some could say that this was spin at its very vest. If only you had issued your correction at the bottom of the site, in size 6 font and upside down.

anon - agreed on the perception of spin. Sadly it realyl did come donw to human error. When we got hold of the docuemnts we just jumped into the yellow pages withthe details and ignored the white pages at the beginning.
