So long for now

Regular readers will have noticed that we've not been posting anywhere nearly as regularly as we used to. We feel bad about this, we really do want to provide an outlet for stories and information about Greenwich Council, but we've become more and more busy with our own lives and so we've decided to take a break from this blog.

When we set this blog up in May 2006 we did so with the aim of cutting though the spin coming out of Greenwich Council, helping to keep the Council on its toes and offering the long suffering residents of Greenwich a small platform to air their views though the comments section. We hope that we have in some way been able to do this, over the last 2 and a bit years we have had a number of small successes, some of the highlights have been;

We will leave this blog up for anyone looking for information and we do ask that you keep it in your RSS aggregator and check back from time to time as you never know we might find an opportunity to start it up again! Also if you do find anything out about Greenwich Council or its elected officials that you really think needs to be made public then do email us as we will keep an eye on the inbox.

Finally a big thank you to all those people who have emailed us views and tip offs and also to all our commentors, this site simply would not have been what it was without you.

We hope you enjoyed reading the site.

Please don't go.

I understand that you want time to yourselves but you will be so missed.

Not least by Greenwich Council who will breathe a collective sigh of relief if you go.

How will we find out what is really happening?

We will all miss you - who else is going to balance the council propaganda?

Was good to begin with - but lost your way towards the end.

The fact that you resorted to knicking other people's info to "refresh" your site was clearly the death knell for GW.

A real shame, this was somewhere to find out what our Lords and Masters do with our cash as well as provide an insight on how the fiefdom that is the Borough of Greenwich has been run.

Humorous, incisive and always a good read, your ability to upset one or two readers/council sympathisers and keep them coming back for more was great. I hope that it isn't too long before you return.

Cheers.

I sense that you are bored with this - watching Greenwich Council - and that might be understandable. The political climate is a bit different, now that Tony Blair and Ken Livingstone are no longer setting an example to the lower orders of how to betray the principles and sacrifices of the Labour Movement. Little ol' middle-class, privately-educated, privilegedly-brought-up me am far more socialist than any of the Greenwich Labour councillors.

But keep your blog on the web, so that you can post on the day when Labour loses control of Greenwich Council.

"the day when Labour loses control of Greenwich Council?" Shurely more chance of Mugabe staging a fair election?

But I suppose a general election at the same time as the local elections could have a knock-on effect...

In the mean time there is the (tories-should-at-least-keep-their-deposit) by-election coming up in Plumstead - and there's a rumour that Labour is desperately trying to prevent a (tories-almost-won-it-last-time) second by-election?
